This website charts the development of the UK blues revolution from the late 1940's through to the early 1970's. The analysis of how it happened, through the identification of the key people involved, what brought them together, their influences, focussing on the West London Club scene and the venues where it all happened.
A brief introduction is included to the history of the blues as it evolved in the States and some of the key performers whose music became part of the formulation of British Music in the late 1950's, how they came to be in Britain and where they played.
By the 1960's this music became one of the most popular forms of music in the modern world. This led to a whole culture involving art, fashion and music being exported world-wide. Super Groups such as The Rolling Stones, Led Zepellin, Cream, Pink Floyd, Queen & many others plus individual performers such as Rod Stewart, David Bowie & Elton John carved massive careers often lasting many decades. It also created a multi-billion pound industry, that still thrives today.
Also included is a time-line that charts the events as they happened in chronological order in order to attempt to piece together clues on the progression of this musical journey
